Marina & Michael were married on a very hot, sunny July day on Galiano Island, just off the west coast of B.C. Much of the day’s events took place at Bodega Ridge Resort, a very nice and rustic resort that rises up and overlooks the blue-green waters off the northwest of the island. Preparations took place at the resort as well as Marina’s family’s property nearby.
Flower preparations:
The ceremony took place up the hill from the resort in an opening with a great view to the west. Guests kept in the shade and out of the unforgiving sun until it was time for the ceremony to begin.
Some were not so keen on the heat.
There were many nice places nearby for portraits. We took a walk near Bodega Ridge before heading down to cool off at Marina’s parents’ property and then to see the rock formations at Retreat Cove.
The reception took place back at Bodega Ridge, under cover from the sun. There were many speeches and tender moments and of course killer dance moves.
Michael always has an eye out.
A tender moment:
Bodega after sundown, when the dancing begins.
Some really like to get down:
A happy man at the end of a long day:

Theo & Caroline’s wedding was the first I ever photographed. For Marina & Michael’s wedding we camped nearby at Montague Park. It was very nice to spend some time with them.
Dancing on into the night.
